Snapshots from Huntington Beach sessions

This spot has quickly become a favorite for holiday sessions this season. During my scheduled mini sessions, this location filled up right away, and by popular demand, I have come back numerous times during the last couple of weeks. If you would like to know what’s so special about it, let’s schedule a session as well.

Thanksgiving Session in Seal Beach

Thanksgiving. A Holiday for family to get together. This year I did just one session during this Holiday, and I’m so glad that I did. This family are close friends, mainly to my wife’s side of the family, but since I moved here they’ve become a big part of my own life. So when they asked if I could meet them at the Seal Beach pier on Thanksgiving morning for some family photos, I was happy to. Their son and his family moved to the east coast a couple of years ago and only come home so often, so that made this session so much more special.

Family session in Irvine

This month I was able to meet up with this fun-filled family at a park in Irvine for a family session. Their son is such a ham, and absolutely loved being in front of the camera. It didn’t take very long before they were all busy goofing off, and for a moment they seemed to forget I was there taking their photos. Posed photos can definitely look great, but there is something very magic about candid moments that always gets me excited.

5 Tips To Help You Take Better Photos This Summer

If you’re like most of us, I’m sure you’re enjoying the summer. Even though I have the fortune of being a photographer here in Orange County, southern California where it seems it’s sunny all year round, there is still something special about the summer time. The beaches are filled with fun and laughter, the ice cream tastes better, and we tend to spend more time outside. Whether you’re on vacation, or you’re just spending time with near and dear family members, I have listed 5 things to help you improve on your family photography skills this summer.

Late Summer Maternity Pictures of My Love

Last weekend I was able to find a bit of time between sessions and editing to take these beautiful pictures of Bethany. It fills me with excitement (and a bit of nervousness) to know that we are expecting our third baby this summer. I think there is something magical about a pregnant woman, and this mom leaves me breathless. I’m so thankful for everything you do for our family, and the things you endure and go through to make sure our baby boy has a safe ride. So thankful for you!READ MORE

The Value of a Professional Photographer

During a recent family photography session, I was asked what I do with all the unedited photos and if the client could have them. The question sort of caught me by surprise. Once I had explained why they wouldn’t be able to get all of them, even if I didn’t have to spend time editing them, it made me realize that this is a really good question. I would say it would be a good question from two perspectives. One, as a client I could see why you would think that it isn’t a big deal to ask for them. Especially since all I did was press a button. Two, as the photographer, I strive to give my clients the very best photographs from our session. Each session I set out to deliver a minimum amount of digital images, but I often strive to give you more to make sure you feel like I didn’t hold something back.READ MORE

Family Getaway in San Clemente

A couple of years ago, my wife and I spent a couple of nights in San Clemente for the first time. During our first day there, we absolutely fell in love with this little town. For those of you who live in southern California, you may not have paid much attention to its existence. I am definitely one of those drivers that rarely pay attention to what towns I pass on the freeway.  San Clemente was one of them, as we would often speed past it on our way to San Diego for vacations or day trips.READ MORE

The Seal Beach Honeymooners

I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Ksenia and Ryan during their honeymoon trip in Southern California. They were such an easy going couple who made the session just fly by during our time in Seal Beach. It was so much fun to hear about their wedding days (!) since they hosted both a Christian, and a Hindu ceremony. Their marriage was so fresh that you could still see traces of the bride’s henna tattoos.READ MORE

Last weekend in Seal Beach

Last weekend I had the privilege of spending my Saturday in Seal Beach, capturing some joyful moments as this family eagerly awaits their baby boy. It always feels special when someone entrusts you to capture, and help savor the feeling of them for now being a family of four – soon to become five. During this session we were also incredibly lucky to have the location all to our selves, something that doesn’t happen that often.READ MORE
